Our stay in the Newly Refurbished Executive Twin Room was excellent! The room was spacious with a brilliant view of the city and high-quality bedding. The buffet breakfast was exceptional, with plenty of tasty options that catered to various preferences. Located conveniently near Lambton Quay, it made exploring the city a breeze.

The refurbished room was pleasing, featuring a stylish bathroom and walk-in shower. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax. However, check-in was a bit disorganized, impacting the start of our experience. Although the location is convenient for shopping, there was limited dining options on-site, and the café wasn't open. that would have been a plus.

I had a wonderful stay at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor! The location is perfect for exploring Lambton Quay, with shopping and restaurants just a short walk away. The staff were incredibly helpful, offering warm service throughout my visit.

Traffic noise present but manageable for city center.

I loved the gym and the quiet rooms. Those wool blankets were a nice touch! Just wish the cafe had been open for food when we were there.

the hotel is near many shops and has a very quiet atmosphere. windows need updating.

Target audience must know

The location was ideal we were just a short walk from a lot of great spots. Took the alternative entrance right onto Lambton Quay which opened up a whole world of food spots and shops.

It wasn’t exactly budget-friendly overall, though it was acceptable.

We enjoyed the spacious room with comfy beds and great amenities. The staff were friendly, which made our stay with young kids easier. If you're into nature, definitely check out Zealandia for some amazing tours. It's just a short drive away.

My kids wished for more kid-friendly meals at the restaurant.

Had a fantastic time at this hotel! The staff were super friendly and always checked if we needed anything. Our room overlooked the terrace and was really quiet, which I loved. Only bummer was the air con didn’t cool it down enough in the heat. The buffet breakfast was awesome, though.

The food scene was a highlight for me! The Manchego ratatouille at Whitby's Restaurant & Bar was an absolute treat, bursting with flavor. Plus, the room was squeaky clean with comfy beds, ensuring a restful night after indulging in Wellington's culinary delights.

I would've liked some options to cater for our own breakfast—just a bowl and spoon would’ve been sweet.
